About

Solana Tara has been a spiritual teacher, practitioner, and world traveler for more than 40 years. Her lifelong journey has been devoted to exploring consciousness, spirituality, healing, creativity, and the deeper dimensions of human experience.

In 1979, Solana began studying yoga with Swami Satchidananda. This marked the beginning of a lifelong path of meditation, yoga, spiritual study, teaching, and conscious living. Over the years, she has studied and practiced a wide range of spiritual and contemplative traditions, integrating these experiences into her teaching and creative work.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Yoga from Naropa University, with a minor in Fine Arts, and a Master’s Degree in Philosophy and Religion. Her education and life experience have given her a broad foundation for exploring the relationship between spirituality, consciousness, creativity, and healing.

In 2012, Solana experienced a profound awakening in India—an experience that continues to unfold and be integrated into her life and work. Her spiritual journey has also taken her around the world, deepening her appreciation for the many ways human beings experience the sacred.

Solana is the author of Letters Through the Veil: A True Love Story of a Woman’s Communication with Her Husband After His Death, a deeply personal account of love, loss, communication, and the continuation of connection beyond physical life.

A New Chapter in Art

In recent years, Solana’s spiritual journey has naturally expanded into visual art. She is an emerging watercolor artist whose work explores the meeting place between the visible and invisible worlds. Through watercolor, color, light, symbolism, and sacred imagery, she seeks to give visual form to experiences, qualities, and states of consciousness that are often difficult to express in words.

Her paintings are deeply connected to her spiritual practice. Some works are created as prayers, while others explore qualities such as abundance, joy, devotion, protection, harmony, love, and transformation. She is particularly interested in the expressive power of color and in the possibility of allowing an image to carry a feeling, presence, or deeper meaning.

Solana’s development as an artist has included advanced training in Veil Painting with the Light–Color–Darkness Academy in Europe, inspired by Rudolf Steiner. And she continues training through classes with the Brevard Watercolor Society.

Her creative practice brings together many threads of her life—yoga, spirituality, philosophy, healing arts, meditation, writing, teaching, and now watercolor—into an evolving exploration of the sacred in everyday life.

Today, Solana continues to teach, create, write, and facilitate experiences that invite people to connect more deeply with themselves, their creativity, and the spiritual dimensions of life. Her work is an ongoing expression of a lifelong question:

How can we bring what is experienced in the unseen realms of consciousness into tangible form in the physical world?
